Automatically resolving unknown TLS Fingerprints

TLS Fingerprinting is still in its early days therefore the coverage of known prints is not too deep. The Trisul TLS Fingerprint App ships with a known fingerprint database of about 500 entries (ja3prints.json) but you might find anywhere from 50-70% unknown fingerprints in your network. We need a way to resolve prints to client ID and build up the mappings.

Trisul Network Analytics throws up TONS of metrics. Right out of the box you get about 200+ metrics across 40 counter groups. Sometimes presenting this information can be a challenge. The default install of Trisul puts about 10 dashboards we have selected to put up on the menu.

TLS Fingerprinter

TLS Fingerprinting is a technique by which you can identify SSL/TLS clients. We have launched a new Trisul App
that adds this capability to TrisulNSM. This page discusses this new App.
